ROSE PARKIN September 24, 1930 October 3, 2012 Rose Elsie Parkin (nee Ellis) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 3 at the age of 82. Rose was born and raised in West Kildonan where she attended Centennial School. She worked at the Manitoba Liquor Commission where she met her loving husband and best friend of 53 years, Jack Parkin. Rose and Jack raised their family initially on Scotia Street in West Kildonan and then on River Road in Selkirk (St. Clements). She is predeceased by her husband Jack, parents Sam and Florence Ellis, brother Sam and sisters Flo, Joyce, Essie and Clee. Rose is loved and deeply missed by her sons and daughters-in-law Geoff and Brenda Parkin, Gord and Barb Parkin, Drew and Serene Parkin, her daughter Debbie Parkin, grand-children Billy and Julia, Tom and Jessica and great-grandson Kalen as well as lifetime, great friend Irene Herner. The family would like to thank the kind and caring staff at Beacon Hill Lodge, particularly the 9th Floor staff. Rose loved to sing, dance and laugh ... memories we will treasure. Softly the leaves of memory fall Gently we gather and treasure them all Unseen, unheard, you are always near So missed, so loved, so very dear We love you Mom xo In lieu of flowers the family gratefully requests donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
